The first phase of this project involved Mitchell Brothers working as a subcontractor to handle all mechanical, electrical, test and balance, and installation of 8 new air handling units. This scope of work also included a complete renovation of multiple operating rooms within the hospital. These renovations included replacing the ceilings, painting all paintable surfaces, replacing all existing ductwork, and installing an all new lighting system.
The technical aspect of the job included bringing in up to date medical grade air distribution systems with battery backup for the existing operating suites. The project involved coordinating multiple lift plans to remove and replace the existing air handling units, each weighing between 12 and 15 thousand pounds.
